At the Fresno Police and Fire Chaplaincy, we exist to be First to Serve—showing up for first responders, walking with families through crisis, and standing in the gap for at-risk youth.

Every call we answer, every teen we mentor, and every moment we stand with someone in crisis happens because people like you make it possible.

Our volunteer chaplains respond to critical incidents—suicides, officer-involved shootings, fires, and traumatic scenes. We provide emotional and spiritual care to those who run toward danger, and we walk alongside their families during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

We also serve at-risk youth through Project STEALTH, where we mentor teens, prevent exploitation, and help restore family relationships. Our team works with both youth and parents—rebuilding trust, restoring communication, and creating pathways toward healing and hope.

Each month, our team shows up—on scenes of tragedy, in moments of crisis, and in quiet conversations that change lives.

But the truth is, while we’ve been faithfully serving our mission, we’ve also been operating in survival mode financially. That’s why we’re launching something bold: Mission 1000.

What is Mission 1000?

Mission 1000 is our initiative to build a foundation of 1,000 monthly givers, at any amount, made up of people like you—those who believe in showing up first, staying present, and serving well.

We’ve placed 1,000 beads in a container—one for each monthly partner we’re praying for. Every time someone joins us in monthly giving, we move a bead from our “Surviving” vase to our “Thriving” vase, visually showing our progress toward sustainability.

Why is monthly giving important?

Monthly giving turns generosity into reliable, steady support. It helps us focus less on fundraising and more on serving people in crisis—first responders, families, and at-risk youth.

Whether it’s $5 or $500 a month, your recurring gift allows us to plan ahead, stay ready, and respond with care whenever we’re needed.
